How we work.

An engagement with W818 follows a consistent structure. We have refined it over many years and many categories of technology. It does not vary by client size or complexity.

01

Defining the requirement

We begin by understanding what you actually need — not what a vendor has told you that you need. We document the requirement in plain language: current state, desired state, constraints, and priorities. This document becomes the basis for everything that follows. It also protects you: vendors respond to what is written, not to what was said in a sales call.

02

Approaching the market

We identify the providers best suited to your requirement and issue a structured brief. We manage the response process, ask the questions that matter, and filter out the noise. You do not sit through vendor presentations until we have something worth your time.

03

Comparing options

We normalize the responses so that you are comparing like for like. Price, scope, terms, and risk are presented in a single view. We give you a recommendation and explain the reasoning. The decision is yours.

04

Staying through the transition

We remain engaged from contract execution through go-live. We hold providers to what they committed to. If something changes, we are there to address it. Our involvement ends when the work is done and you are satisfied.

The requirement comes first

The reason selections go wrong is that nobody writes down what good looks like before the demos start. We do that first, in business terms, then translate it into what a provider must actually deliver.
